From the moment Doc jumped outta the hatchback, we could tell—this boy carries a quiet
wisdom that makes you want to just sit beside him and breathe. Estimated around 6 years old and 59 pounds, this neutered gentleman is a German Shorthaired Pointer (maybe with a mystery twist—wouldn’t a DNA test be fun?).

Past
Until his elderly owner passed away, Doc spent his life on 14 wooded acres with 14 other dogs, so he knows all about sharing space and living with a pack. That said, he’s perfectly content enjoying his own company too. His foster mom describes him as gentle, tolerant, and
surprisingly adaptable for a boy who’s just met suburban life. Yes, new neighborhood noises (air conditioners kicking on, car doors shutting) caught him off guard at first—but every day, he’s adjusting, finding comfort, and realizing the world is still a safe place.

Present
Right now, Doc is soaking up the good life: soft beds, snuggle sessions during movie nights with a 7-year-old human, and leisurely evenings when the house is calm. He’s house-trained, but did have a couple accidents while learning the new routine. He’s respectful indoors, and has not shown signs of separation anxiety. He’s got a few age-related notes—mild dental tartar, a bit of cloudiness in his eyes, some skin irritation being treated—but nothing slowing him down from enjoying his second chance. And his quirks? He’ll beat you back to bed after a potty break and claim his spot… and yes, he’s a fly-chasing champion.

Future
Doc’s ideal home is one where patience, understanding, and gentle companionship are the
norm. A fenced yard is perfect for now, but if you’ve got a dog door and a safe space for
nighttime exploring, he’ll think he’s won the lottery. He can handle alone time and would do well as a solo dog, but if you’ve got a calm canine buddy—maybe even his foster brother Marty—that could be a beautiful match. He’s the type of dog who will quietly become the heart of your home, asking for nothing more than kindness, a comfy spot to rest, and someone to share those slow, sweet moments with.
