Serena is a 3-4-year-old Pointer with a loving heart and boundless energy. She’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly and ready for a hike, long walks, or a nap by your side.

This beautiful girl is people-friendly and thrives with structure and activity. She has done well in group play at boarding facilities and enjoys being around other dogs in the right setting. However, due to dynamics in her current home, she would do best as an only dog or in a home experienced with gradual introductions. She is not cat-friendly, so she needs a feline-free home.

Serena is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and on regular flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and has been working with a trainer on leash manners and impulse control, particularly when it comes to squirrels (her favorite nemeses!). She currently walks well on a prong collar, under trainer guidance. She is also treadmill-trained, which is a great option for rainy days or extra energy bursts! True to her sporting breed roots, Serena is an athletic jumper and has managed to hop fences in the past. Her current home has reinforced fencing with a pet-proof extension, which has effectively resolved the issue. She’ll need a secure yard and an active adopter who can provide daily exercise and mental stimulation.

Serena is incredibly sweet and bonds deeply with her people. She deserves a home where she can be the center of attention and live the happy, active life she was made for."
