Woody (Tyler)

Woody is learning how to be a dog again! He was scared and docile at first but his confidence has been growing and the GSP personality is coming back! He had a rough start and needed antibiotics but is doing much better now with the help of his prescription kidney food.  

Woody thrives off of his routine. His favorite part of the day is either when we grab his leash for a walk/car ride or if a ball comes out. He loves to be outside whether it’s in the yard (does not jump fences) or on a run. 

Woody has learned his name, knows basic commands, and is not afraid of going in his crate. He has not been allowed on furniture but does request a plush bed or blanket to lay on until he gets a bit more weight on him. 

He is indifferent to other dogs on walks or in public. He doesn’t have a desire to play with other dogs. He has tried to chase stray cats. He has done excellent at stores, cross country meets, parks, and city walks. He doesn’t mind kids petting him at all but has not been around children off leash. 

Woody does pull heavily on a leash but is significantly better when using a gentle leader. He does bark at people outside the house but will stop with correction. Woody can be stubborn and won’t listen to commands at times. We are continually working on it with help of food/ball motivation. He has grown so much in two weeks, he would do excellent in a home that’s willing to work with him. 

Medical Alert: Woody has kidney disease and is on a special kidney diet.
