Cash (Oklahoma City)
Cash is a gorgeous, sweet, but very nervous boy. We estimate his age is about 12 months. We don’t know much about his background, but it’s pretty obvious he was not always treated kindly. He is going to need an extremely patient home that will love him for all his quirks and understand his timidness. Once he warms up to you, he loves you fiercely, but he is terrified of strangers and really anything new. His time with his foster family has made him much calmer and braver, but he still has a long way to go.
Since he has been back with his foster parents, he has started taking Trazodone to help with his anxiety. He’s done extremely well on it and would benefit greatly from continued treatment.
He absolutely needs a safe space to retreat to. For his foster- that is his crate in a corner of the bedroom. He needs a calm, quiet home environment. He was previously in a home with young children, and they were just too noisy and unpredictable for him. He loves to spend his time in his crate, with us on the couch, or outside.
He is still afraid of the leash, but slowly learning to walk with it! A backyard is still necessary at this point for him to get his energy out. He loves other dogs, and they seem to even help with his nervousness. Not good with cats.
His ideal home would be one without small children or he would even do well with calm, older kids. He would especially love a home with other dogs too!
