Hey There! I’m Marty 

I’m a 6–7-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, about 55 pounds, and I’ve been told I’m equal parts spunky, smart, and professional-grade lovebug. My energy level is what you’d call average for us GSPs— I enjoy some romps around the front yard, but I also take my snuggling very seriously.

My favorite thing in the world is my person. I show my love by curling myself into a tight little cinnamon roll and pressing my whole body right up against you. If you sit down, I will helpfully appear. If you lie down, even better. Sometimes I sleep with my tongue out — it’s part of my spunk.

I’m fully house trained, I know commands like sit and off (yes, even the couch and bed), and I get along great with other dogs. I live with a loud, energetic 7-year-old kiddo and tolerate him like a true gentleman. Cats are… interesting. I might chase if given the chance, so a feline-free home would probably be best.

Currently, I’m receiving monthly heartworm treatments, and will require some activity restrictions for a bit — my rescue team will guide you every step of the way.

I’m still working on a few confidence things. Harnesses make me nervous, and car rides are a work in progress, but I’m smart and very trainable with someone patient and kind. Crate training is also something I’m learning. I absolutely do not love thunderstorms. There are times when I can feel a little anxious when I’m away from my person — mostly because I really, really love being near you.

My ideal home is one where my human is around often and willing to keep helping me with the basics. Not because I’m difficult — but because I thrive on reassurance, consistency, and connection.

What makes me special? Honestly… I just love loving. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will choose you every single day and show you exactly how much you matter, I’m your guy.
