Birdie (League City)

Birdie may be a senior, but she does not know it!  She is estimated to be 10 years old but still has a lot of spunk in her.  She is the most loving carefree pup.  She loves being with us wherever we are but is also independent and not too clingy (except at bedtime where she likes to sleep on the floor next to my bed).  Birdie is perfectly fine with other dogs but I believe she would be just fine to have you to herself too.  When we are outside, she is out running and sniffing the ground exploring the acreage.  If we are inside, she is curled up on the couch (her favorite spot).  She loves watching the chickens in their yard but has never tried to get in or even bark at them.  Birdie IS cat friendly!  Our cat is cautious of her but Birdie has never looked at her with ANY interest.  
We have a dog door she uses but sometimes forgets to use it.  I think with more work she will get it down pat.  She has been around smaller children that made her a little nervous, but I think with the right introduction it could work out.
Birdie is just a happy girl who would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a sweet, loyal best friend.
