Hi! My names Mudd! And yes that’s the name I came into my foster home with. I respond really well to it, so they kept it for now. My foster parents felt it should be spelled with two d’s. That’s just my vibe.
I am 3 years old and am 84 lbs.
My coat is solid liver except for a few white speckles on my chest (which my foster mom thinks is so cute). My coat is a little faded from the sun because I spent the first three years of my life outside only. I do have an affinity for my foster homes large yard and the freedom it gives me as I previously only knew life on a 3 ft chain. Being a city dog now has been so fun! When I am outside, I love greeting the neighbor dogs through the fence.
The hoomans say I am a super good boy (even better than my foster brother). I come when called, sit, lay down, and stay. I am really smart, learn really fast, and only want to please you. Your wish is my command. I am pretty good on leash with a gentle leader and love going on walks! I am also potty trained and crate trained and sleep in there overnight without a peep. My foster parents have a doggy doorbell to go outside that I learned how to use all on my own - my foster brother had formal training and never used it. I think it’s the greatest thing! I’ll greet you with the quickest tail wag in the morning and am very patient when waiting to be let out.
I have definitely had e collar training in the past. I do play well with other non dominant dogs, too. You might just need to introduce us slowly over the course of a few days. I’m even good with my 7 month old foster brother who can be pretty annoying when I’m trying to nap. I do like to protect my toys, so my foster dog and I play with them separately when we are on play breaks from each other/in a crate. Frozen kongs and peanut butter are my absolute favorite when I’m heading into my crate. I am learning to share and continue to learn to trust others and come out of my shell. You know I’m truly comfortable and happy when I chatter my teeth. I will try to gently mouth your hand and retrieve you, but I’m working on learning my human etiquette and manners.
I am excellent in the bath and am good to get my nails trimmed. I am also not afraid of the vet - I love meeting new people and getting to try New treats.
As for my personality, “Happy Dog” would be my theme song. It’s my goal to make sure everyone in the room thinks they’re my favorite person. I’m always happy and easy going. I can match your activity level well. Hiking on Saturday then a lazy day on the couch Sunday? I’m your dog.
My previous owners say I was a great hunter. My foster parents haven’t had me bird tested but I like my kiddie pool and water, I don’t seem gun shy (shout out to our neighbors building a shed with nail guns), and there’s not a bird in sight I don’t notice.
Because of my size/height, my nose comes in at a little under counter height, so the kitchen can be a little like taking a kid through a candy shop when you’re cooking. Luckily, I have a good obedience foundation so I just lay down while my foster parents cook to resist any temptations. My foster brother is naughty anyways, so my foster parents already take all the precautions anyways and have a dog proof garbage can. My foster mom could see my nose getting me in trouble there.
I’m not food aggressive around humans what so ever, and even started sharing my food bowl with my foster brother once we got to know each other.
Heartworm negative, fully vaccinated, and recently neutered, I am ready to meet my furever family. I do have a slight case of hip dysplasia in one of my hips. My foster parents have me on a joint supplement that has done wonders.
If you have room in your home for a big guy like me, just wait and see the even bigger part of your heart I can take up ❤️
