Howdy! I’m Russell, a 6 year old German Shorthaired Pointer looking for a forever home. Like most pointers, I have lots of energy and love to play fetch with my people or wrestle with furry playmates. Because of my size and energy level, I would fit in best in a home with similarly sized dogs that are tolerant of rough play and puppy-like energy. Although I love everyone I meet, my large size and energy level makes me more suitable for an active household with older children. I have never lived with a cat (but I have chased some out of my backyard) so I may do best in a cat free home. I am housetrained, kennel trained (though I much prefer being next to my person), and know basic commands like sit and down. Even though I respond to my name I might wonder if I see something really interesting. You can trust me to be left out roaming around the house without destroying anything. Not to brag, but I do extremely well at the vet and at grooming appointments. Going on walks is my favorite thing to do but car rides are not my forte; neither are thunderstorms or fireworks! Because I love people so much you do not have to worry about me digging under, or jumping over fences. I am definitely a people pup and would do best with a family that can dedicate lots of time to spending time with me! Although my excitement can get the best of me, I am very smart and food does a good job at motivating me to learn new things. I am neutered and up to date on vaccines.
