Seven (Louisiana)

Meet Seven! He is a loyal companion and an all around great dog. He’s a bit of an alpha, but in the best way. He gets along great with my dog and has done well with others too. Around small kids, he can be a little unsure at first, but once he realizes they’re safe, he warms right up.

This boy absolutely loves the outdoors. If we’re outside, he’s ready to go! He runs, explores, and swims like a champ. Chasing after ducks, rabbits, lizards, and squirrels is his favorite pastime. He’s got a fantastic nose and point, I really believe he has the makings of a hunter if someone wanted to train him. He’s not bothered by storms or loud noises, so nothing really rattles him.

Inside, he’s a totally different dog, calm, relaxed, and happy to lounge the day away. He’s not destructive and has never needed a crate. He’s very smart and learns quickly. He knows “sit,” “come,” “no,” and he’s getting the hang of whistle training with his e-collar (no shock). Off-leash, he may wander out a bit, but he always comes back to find you.

Seven does best when he has another dog around, but what he really wants is to be with his person. He’s not clingy, just steady company. The one thing he’s still working on is car rides, he gets nervous and really wants to be right up front with you, so he may do better crated in the car.
