Storm (DFW)

Hi everyone! My name is Storm or Stormy as my foster parents call me. I am still learning my name so this could be changed if desired. The shelter the rescue picked me up from believes I am a 1-2 year old female Pointer mix but are not exactly sure what I am mixed with. Weighing in at just under 50 lbs of pure joy I would make the perfect companion for any family. The shelter I came from didn’t have any background on me but that hasn’t stopped me from settling into home life at my fosters. I adjusted pretty quickly and have loved playing with my Weimaraner foster brother and my foster parents. I love my foster parents especially cuddling with them at the end of the night. Because of this my foster parents think I would do well either as an only dog or with another furry sibling. There is a cat at my foster home but he stays behind a gate on the staircase, I just like to sit at the bottom of the stairs and wait for him. So my foster parents think it’s best to be in a home without cats at this time.

 I do stay in my crate while my foster parents are at work and to sleep at night. I do well and am learning how to go in with the help of a treat. I am also potty trained and have never had an accident inside the house. I do have one bad habit, I love to bark both inside the house and outside in the backyard. My foster parents don’t mind my barking when someone comes to the front door because I am protecting the house. However, due to this, they think I would do better in a single family home and not an apartment atmosphere. I also enjoy talking to the neighbor dogs through the fence which is something we are working on but still have some progress to be made. I am also working on improving my leash skills, but I still pull sometimes and want to sniff all the fun new smells. I have been through one storm so far but the thunder didn’t bother me at all. I also haven’t been around kids yet but with my sweet nature my foster parents think I would do okay with them. They would want to make sure I get to meet all members of my new family to make sure though. I am looking for a sweet family I can spend the rest of my life with.
